Why Beachbody performance and Shakeology over other brands?

All protein powders are created equal, right? Wrong!
Did you know that anything labeled a supplement is not required to be monitored by the U.S. federal government through the Food and Drug Administration? That means that nearly anything can be put into these “affordable” performance boosting and protein supplements. Some supplements have even been found to contain dangerous levels of lead, cadmium, mercury and even arsenic! Under the label of “supplement”, none of these products need to be inspected or approved by federal regulators before they head over to your local “health” store.
In addition to possibly consuming arsenic (Arsenic was formerly used as rat poison!) you’d be hard pressed to find a protein powder that don’t contain “natural and artificial flavors” (um, what?) and “artificial coloring”. Let’s be honest, if you’re giving the coloring of any food a NUMBER, you should turn and walk the other way. Fun fact, the red color in processed foods regularly comes from powdered bugs! There has got to be a better option, right?
By pumping these supplements full cheap, low quality, and possibly toxic ingredients, they can mass produce these products and keep them “affordable” for the consumer. Some of these companies are slow to remove banned ingredients and may not even let you know that you’re consuming them, so you will be inadvertently doping by just having your protein shake after a session on the stair climber.
Let’s talk protein requirements. Self appointed “beef heads” or “body builders” may state that a person needs 1-1.2g of protein per pound of fat, when, in fact, according to the National Academy of Sports Medicine you need about half that, even if you’re working out regularly. If you’re following your recommended number of servings of your standard protein each day, you could be sitting at upwards of 40g of protein from your powder alone! A person consuming too much protein will experience dehydration, kidney damage, increased risk of cancer- all leading up to early death. What a way to chase off those “last few pounds”! It doesn't need to end this way.
Enter, Shakeology and the Beachbody Performance Line. The Performance Line has what is called a NSF certification, which means that regular on-site inspections of the facilities and frequent re-testing of their products follow strict standards and procedures put in place by the National Science Foundation (NSF). If at any point a company does not comply with these standards, the NSF label will be removed and products recalled.
As for Shakeology, it is jam packed with the best whole and super foods you can find from around the world. Take a look at the ingredients. You won’t find a single questionable or artificial ingredient. No rat poison here!
Too expensive for you? Think again. Let’s take a look at the big picture. At only $4 per serving, it’s a pretty safe bet that you spend more on that while eating out or even stopping for a coffee a few times each week. Sure, you can get a different protein powder for a much smaller price at a local shop, but are you prepared for the health issues and imminent medical bills for consuming something that isn’t regulated?
Beachbody offers top of the line, forever improving products that will fuel your body and your workouts with products that you can trust.
